I welcome you to the South Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Members, other appraisers, and the public will find information on this website about real estate appraising. The geographic area of our Chapter is Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties in southeast Florida. Our 550 plus members come from many diverse nationalities, ethnic and racial groups. Judy Curtis and Debra McClave are the Executive Secretaries, who can be reached in our professional office during the workweek.
The South Florida Chapter is nationally known for offering comprehensive real estate appraisal courses and seminars. Courses span the spectrum from entry level to advanced level topics. These courses not only include the required continuing education; but, specialty courses the proprietary schools typically do not offer. Due to our varied continuing education courses, an appraiser can stay up-to-date on new issues and laws without having to take the same courses every two years. Our courses are open to all appraisers, underwriters, investors, lawyers, accountants and the general public.
We are a large chapter and meet four times per year for a business meeting and an educational session. Typically, attendance at these sessions earns three continuing education credits. Meetings are an occasion for camaraderie and networking, open to all interested parties.
The South Florida Chapter has an active Associates Guidance/Mentor program to assist Associate Members in pursuing their designations. A designated member of the Appraisal Institute has reached the highest mark of professionalism by completing a program of educational courses, peer review, and demonstrated ability over time.
Dedicated professionals make the South Florida Chapter one of the most
outstanding in the Appraisal Institute. Attend a meeting or a course, and get involved.
